BACKGROUND CABINET, 2nd half 19th century

A squat cupboard with a rich ornamental decoration.

The front door has a centralizing inlay, depicting a grand vase with a bouquet of sprawling flowers. At the base it is flanked by a pair of sophisticated kayaks with an uplifted kiwatostane. The cut edges are enriched with elongated balusters carrying a floral frieze.

The whole is placed on four onion feet.
