The beginnings of pottery production in St. Clement dates back to 1758, when Jacques Chambrette, who already had one factory in Luneville, opened a second one. In 1892, the still operating plant was bought by Keller and Guerin, who also already owned a factory in nearby Luneville. Under their leadership, the factory was significantly expanded. In 1922, plants in both towns were taken over by a new owner.
