Ernest Hebert (1817-1908) - French painter, graduate of the Paris School of Fine Arts. He made his debut at the art salon in 1839. After receiving the Prix de Rome, he moved to Rome, finding his painting inspiration in the local rural landscapes. After returning to France, he mainly painted portraits. In 1882 he was awarded the title of professor at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. His works can be found in many prestigious art galleries, incl. at the Louvre and the Orsay Museum.
