MATER DOLOROSA DROPPERS, 1st half of the 19th century Twentieth century

Stoup with a semicircular iconographic shield.

In its center there is the figure of the crucified Christ with the symbols of the Holy Trinity. At its foot are Mary and St. Jan, flanking the right water vessel.

The motif of Mater Dolorosa - the mother suffering under the cross, goes back to the Middle Ages. Shown on the stoup, it refers to the words of the Gospel according to St. John.
