TABERNACULUM, wood, 18th century
A quadrilateral tabernacle with a rich sculptural setting.
In the central place there is a hexagonal door with the image of the Eucharistic chalice. Placed on a heavenly cloud, it emits a radiant halo.
The whole rests on a piled-up base from which volute drains emerge. Decorated with fleshy acanthus, they rush straight to the cornice with an analogous top.
