Garden stool / seat in the form of a drum. Hand-painted underglaze with cobalt: pine branches, plum flowers, various plants and a crab. The base and the top are decorated with an ornamental frieze. The whole is wrapped in a thick porcelain "rope".

Glazed porcelain, hand-painted.

Kawamoto Hanusuke - a family of ceramists, Kawamoto Hanusuke IV (? -1857) was an artist of the fourth generation of ceramists working in the Seto area, in the Bunka period (1804-1818) he switched from making ceramics to porcelain. He is famous for many technical innovations in the production of porcelain. His son-in-law - Kawamoto Hanusuke V (1831-1907), and son Kawamoto Hanusuke VI (1844-1905), continued the master's work and developed the production of porcelain also with export in mind. Kawamoto Hanusuke VI (1844-1905) in 1881, together with his brother-in-law, henceforth called Kawamoto Masukichi, opened the Seto Jikosha brand which also promoted its products at World Exhibitions in Europe. The works of the Kawamoto Hanusuke family can be found in many museums around the world, including Metropolitan Museum in New York or Seto - Gura Museum in Japan.
