The sculpture shows Guanyin (sanctity: Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara) with the dog Foo (otherwise known as the Buddhist Lion). Guanyin is a Bodhisattva personifying compassion, his name means "to observe sounds", that is, to listen to requests. In his left hand he holds upside down a vase from which the holy water pours out, forming a foam, it is one of the symbols of a happy fortune that can tame suffering. The goddess is accompanied by the dog Foo - the Buddhist temple guardian, and also the companion of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni. The wooden sculpture is covered with thick polychrome, consisting of red lacquer, silver flakes and embossed decorations. At the back of the sculpture there is a hiding place - a reliquary, the preserved polychrome shows that it has never been opened .
