PAIR OF SEALS WITH DOGS FOO, stone, China, 19th / 20th century

A pair of stamps with figurines of the dog Foo and the puppy. The dog Foo, known as the Chinese lion, is a symbol of dignity and power present since the Han Dynasty (208 BC - 221 AD). It was believed that it protects against evil powers and guards the observance of the law. Present on the old seals of the state administration. One of the stamps has an engraved inscription.
