The patinated bronze sculpture shows one of the Seven Gods of Happiness, namely Fukurokuju with a crane. A sage with a characteristic elongated skull in Japanese mythology is the god of wisdom, longevity and happiness. He's holding a stick in one hand and a snail in the other. The sculpture is made with great charm and attention to detail. The crane in China is a traditional symbol of longevity as well as happy and long relationships.
