KARAFKA, C. Frey & Söhne, Prussia, Breslau, 19th / 20th century

A wine carafe with a low belly.

A short spout and a slender ear come out of the elongated body. G.The upper part of the vessel received a silver fitting enriched with leaf decorations and the monograms of the previous owner.

The whole is crowned with a bulged cover with a helmet-shaped pinnacle.

Carl Frey (1774-1845) - Prussian goldsmith. From 1799, the owner of a goldsmith's workshop in Świebodzice. He specialized in the production of high-quality tableware. In 1861, he changed the name of his company to C. Frey & Söhne, and a year later he opened a family workshop in Wrocław. After his death, the older son took over the Wrocław branch, and the younger one continued his work in the Legnica branch.
