MARBLE COUNTERTOP, Florentine mosaic, 20th century,

The octagonal table top is made of white marble, decorated with the pietra dura technique, the so-called Florentine mosaic. It consists in decorating the surface by arranging ornaments made of tiles made of hard varieties of stones. Initiated in Italy during the Renaissance.

The table top is inlaid with mother of pearl, semi-precious stones and colored glass.
