A PAIR OF CANDLES, PLATTER, early Twentieth century

A pair of candlesticks based on a classicist form.

The sleeve took the shape of a vase decorated with vertical stripes and palmettes. At its top there is a retractable ridge with a wide, pearl-like comb. The stem was formed into an ancient column decorated with bucranions and festoons. The whole thing is placed on a square foot.
