POLYCHROMED CANDLE, wood, 17th / 18th century
A baroque candlestick with a characteristic pedestal uplifted by volute flows. Decorated with acanthus leaves, it shows a centralizing panel of arms.
The baluster shaft carries a sleeve that widens upwards. Its comb is decorated with ornamental grooves.
In the middle of the sleeve there is a needle that allows for a stable placement of the candle.
