FIREPLACE SCREEN, 1st half 19th century

A fireplace screen in an octagonal frame supported by a stylized leg. The lyre-shaped shaft was erected on a rectangular foot. There are four subtle handles around the frame.

The interior of the screen is a decorative tapestry, characterized by high quality of workmanship. At 1cm² there are over 100 fabric weaves. It presents an idyllic scene from the life of shepherds in the fête champ être type.
