HANGING CABINET IUSTITIA, oak, stained birch, 19th century

Rectangular cabinet with an intricate iconographic program.

In the central place there is a door with a bas-relief personification of justice. A young woman holds a sword in one hand and a scales in the other.

The whole is flanked by a pair of vertical grotesques, fastened at the base with festoons with a centralizing garland. The cabinet is topped off coat of arms with two figures lying down.

The cabinet was built in this form in the 19th century. However, it has much older elements, dating back to at least the 18th century.

Preservation condition: traces of wood-eaters.
