A traditional sculptural theme in a modern form. The Mother of God holds the sitting Child Jesus in her hands, spreading her hands in a gesture of blessing. Little Christ is kept unnaturally low, in frontal view one can get the impression that he is sitting on Mother's lap. The figure of the standing Madonna has been significantly elongated, which is only emphasized by the long robe covering the feet. The composition has practically no counterbalance to the vertical direction. The figure is characterized by simplification and striving to geometricize shapes.
