Description
Antione BOFILL was born in 1875 in Barcelona, Spain, studied at the Academy of Beaux Arts in Barcelona, and in the following years established contact with the Parisian art world. From 1901 he regularly exhibited his works at the prestigious Paris Salons. He was best known for his small decorative bronze sculptures. He focused on neoclassical themes, historical scenes, female nudes and animals.His intricate and realistic works are particularly notable for his incorporation of bone into miniature bronze castings. He had an unusual practice that set him apart from other sculptors of his time.
