A candlestick with Our Lady, M. Salvini, turn of the 19th and 20th centuries

A unique candlestick with the image of the Virgin Mary. The inscription "Ora Pro Nobis", meaning "Pray for us", is an essential phrase of many Marian prayers. Interesting contrasting effects are provided by the materials and colors used.

Mario Salvini (Reggio Emilia, 1863- Florence, 1940) - Italian sculptor and ceramist. Student of the Florence Academy of Fine Arts. In Florence, he founded a ceramics factory signed with his own name. Participant of many exhibitions in Italy and around the world. At the end of his life, from the 1920s, he turned to teaching.
