Henri Louis Levasseur (1853-1934) - French sculptor, trained by Auguste Dumont and Eugen Delaplanche. He specialized in mythological, historical and religious representations. His sculptures are characterized by the plasticity of the material and an extraordinary ability to render detail. He regularly exhibited his works at the Paris Salons. His works can be found in many distinguished cultural and art institutions, such as the Orangerie in the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris or the Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow.
