Bust of a young woman with tied-up hair made of painted terracotta. The girl is depicted in Art Nouveau style, which is particularly evident from the dynamically depicted hairstyle or clothing.

Art Nouveau, Vienna, ca. 1900. Signed ‘Nelson’ - Alphonse-Henri NELSON (1854 - 1919) and Goldscheider and model numbers.

Goldscheider - Goldscheider'sche Porzellan-Manufactur und Majolica-Fabrik - Viennese pottery founded in 1885 by Frederic Goldscheider. It gained international fame and reputation as a manufacturer of figures made in historical styles, later in Art Nouveau and Art Deco.

Good state of preservation, minor chipping and rubbing of the polychrome.
