Amphora - a company founded in Turn-Teplitz (today's Czech Republic) around 1892. At first it was called RSt&K, after the founders of the company: Riessner, Stellmacher and Kessel. Together with many other pottery and porcelain factories in Turn-Teplitz at the turn of the 20th century, it benefited from the resources of nearby mined kaolin. The main decorators of this period were Eduard Stellmacher, Paul Dachsel and graduates of the Special Glass Ceramics in Teplitz, creating many of the wonderful Art Nouveau designs for which this pottery is still known today. The wares varied from vases with women's faces in the style of Alphonse Mucha, vases with nymphs, wares with animal images to abstract, more modern organic decorations.
