Jean Jules Cambos (1828-1917) - French sculptor, graduate of the École des Beaux Arts in Paris. He specialized in monumental works with mythological and allegorical themes. In 1879, he received the Golden Crown for his work on the school's façade. While fulfilling state commissions, he was appointed a knight of the Legion of Honor in 1881. His works are displayed at venues including the Musée d'Orsay and the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux.

A multi-view representation of the titular "Bather." A young woman gently holds her dress as it falls from her shoulders. She checks the water temperature by extending her right foot toward the extra-figural space. Her pinned-up hair reveals a bent back with a delicately defined spine.
