
WAY OF THE CROSS, bronze, 2nd half of the 19th century
High-quality bas-relief plaques with nine Stations of the Cross. The artist composed the scenes in oval fields and rendered them in convex relief. Some figures seem almost fully plastic. The representations amaze with the multitude of details and the power of expression.

II. The Lord Jesus takes the cross into his arms.
IV. The Lord Jesus meets his Mother.
VI. Saint Veronica wipes the face of Jesus.
VII. The Lord Jesus falls under the cross for the second time.
VIII. The Lord Jesus comforts the crying women.
IX. Jesus falls under the cross for the third time.
X. The Lord Jesus is stripped of His garments.
XI. The Lord Jesus is nailed to the cross.
XIV. The Lord Jesus is laid in the tomb.
