Description
The bronze sculpture depicts a portrait of the standing sculptor Michelangelo with a chisel and hammer in his hands. The artist is dressed in a Renaissance costume with puffed sleeves and wide trousers. He is depicted with a characteristic curly hairstyle and beard, known from other portraits of him such as the portrait by Daniele da Volterra (1509-1566) or the Florentine monument by Emilio Santarelli (1801-1889).
