With his left hand he supports branches tied with ropes. With his right he grabs his falling trousers, which are being pulled down with incredible persistence by a mischievous dog.

Signature: A. Dion

Auguste Louis Dion (1824-1873) - French sculptor, student of Hippolyte Heizler. He ran a workshop on the Parisian rue d'Angouleme du Temple. In the years 1865-1870 he exhibited his works at the Paris Salon. He specialized in animalistic sculpture.
