Inscription: Jean Massard
Jean Massard (1740-1822) - Parisian engraver, student of the eminent painter Jean Baptiste Greuze. He created graphics based on the great works of French masters such as Jacques Louis David. He was accused of collaborating with Robespierre's opponents. Acquitted, he died as a result of an accident. His works are in many renowned institutions, including the British Museum and the Royal Łazienki in Warsaw.
