Nympho with shells, bronze, neoclassicism, 19th century

Nymph with a shell - a small copy of an ancient Roman sculpture from the 1st century in the Louvre collection. The pose of the figure alludes to the well-known Hellenistic sculpture of a girl playing dice. The nymph has been intriguing for centuries without losing its topicality, as evidenced by the copies made by artists (including Antoine Coysevox, Auguste Suchelet).

Neoclassicism, 19th century

Brown.
