CHRIST ON THE CROSS, neo-Gothic, 19th century
Presentation of the crucified Christ in a rich crown and dressed in a long perizonium. Attention is drawn to the sacrifice of the Savior's torso - subtly depicted anatomy of the body, individual elements only delicately outlined. The body also has no visible signs of torment, only a small wound on the side is visible. The whole shows Christ as the king and conqueror of death, not suffering on the cross.
