Johann Baptist Homann(1664-1724) - Bavarian cartographer and official. From 1702 he ran an impressive map engraving shop in Nuremberg. Taken over by the family heirs, it was closed in 1852. As a member of the Academy of Sciences, in 1716 he was appointed imperial geographer.

Condition: no glass.

A multi-coloured map of Denmark enclosed in a simple band. Enriched with a decorative figurative scene presenting a pair of naked men. Leaning on elongated clubs, they flank the crowned royal coat of arms. They are accompanied by a herd of farm animals. The whole is enriched with a simple plate with an elaborate inscription.
