The painting was made according to the work of Alexandre Roslin - a Swedish artist active in France, also known as Le Chevalier Roslin (1718-1793), who mainly created portraits in the style of the era. The canvas of the Plant is in the collection of the Louvre. The painting shows a young girl who is decorating a figure of Cupid, the god of love, with a flower garland. By her act, the girl wants to guarantee herself the feeling of the man whose portrait is on her desk. The artist signed her drawing with her own name, but also included information about whose work she was inspired by.
