The fluted belly received a diagonal surface layout, constituting a background for the intricate panel. Placed in a frame of marine flora, it serves as a place for the monogram of the new owner.

The spreading ears provide a subtle setting for the raised cover, which ends with a floral pinnacle.

Alfenide Paris - the de L'Alfénide manufactory, owned by Christofle since 1888. Despite being taken over by a larger rival, the factory was able to continue trading under its own brand. It cooperated with the French goldsmith Félix Chéron, whose "Gallia" became the trade name for an alloy of copper and tin patented in 1896. The manufactory's products are known for the production of small, highly decorative objects, created by outstanding designers. In 1933, Gallia completely lost its autonomy in Christofle.
