August Henri Carli (1868-1930) - French sculptor, coming from a family that engaged in both sculpture and casting. As a student of the Ecole nationale superieure des Beaux - Art, he received second place in the competition for the Prix de Rome in 1897. He mainly created decorative and large-format sculptures, intended to be an element of the public space of Marseille. These include, among others, the fountain with the triumph of Amphitrite on the Joseph Etienne Square in Marseille and the monumental stairs of the Marseille Saint Charles station.

Bust representation of a young woman. Tilting her head with a smile, she looks into the extra-figural space. Her smooth neckline is juxtaposed with a floral part of her clothing. The overall image is enriched with a small mandolin.
