YOUNG JAN CHRZCICIEL, after D. da Settignano, electroplating, 2nd half of the 19th century

Bas-relief depicting the young John the Baptist. A cast made according to the work of the Renaissance Italian sculptor Desiderio da Settignano (1428 / 30-1464). The original is in the Bargello museum in Florence. The bas-relief shows the youthful profile of John the Baptist dressed in the garb of a hermit. The whole thing is enclosed in a wooden eclectic frame.
