MOTHER WITH CHILD, Richard Aurili, 19th/20th century
A sculptural bust showing the profile of a mother and child.
The woman, turned toward her daughter, kisses her tenderly on the cheek. Her closed eyelids prevent her from seeing the corners of her mouth turned up in contentment.
The girl's protruding head and wide open eyes testify to the watchful observation of her mother's protectiveness. The whole emerges from the austere, sculptural setting.
