Personification of music depicted on a circular base.

A young woman holds back the drapery that is sliding down her hips. She places her foot on a small head preceded by a small melodic notation.

Swith narrowed eyes he looks at the vibrating strings of the lute, from which skilled fingers produce sounds inaudible to the ear.

Plate based on: Par J. Caussé (Beaux - Arts 1900)

Julien Caussé (1869-1914) - French sculptor specializing in female representations. Extremely prolific in his work, he created sculptures both in pure bronze and using mixed elements, such as glass or stones. His works were exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais. He was twice distinguished for his works, in 1882 and 1900. In addition, in 1893 he received a third class medal.
