SUSPENDED VASE, Orivit, Germany, 1920s-30s. Twentieth century

A vase with a simple handle that allows it to be hooked on the railing. It obtained a cylindrical form, narrowing downwards.

The plate binding is finished with a stepped pinnacle. And the grooved, openwork body carries geometric panels, referring to the polished cross-section of the vessel.

Orivit - a manufacturer of artistic silver and tin products. Founded by Ferdinand Hubert Schmitz at the end of the 19th century in Cologne. In 1900, she received a gold medal at the Universal Exposition in Paris. Five years later it was acquired by WMF. Thanks to the use of high-quality tin called "Orivit - Metall" and "Orivit - Silber - Zinn", the products of this factory enjoyed wide recognition.
