Vase made of layered glass using an etching technique. The decorative motif is aquatic plants (perhaps Caltha palustris - Caltha des marais - Marsh Marsh Marsh?), one of Émile Gallé's favorite themes.

Height 24.9 cm, diameter 8.7 cm.
State of preservation: very good.
Émile Gallé's manufactory was famous for its top-quality furniture and glassware. Gallé loved walking in the wild forests, and had his own small botanical garden, and above the door of his studio he hung signs reading: "Our roots are deep in the forest - on the banks of streams and among the moss."
