
+PAIR OF VASES, Pallme König & Habel, Bohemia, ca. 1900
A pair of Art Nouveau vases made of milky iridescent glass covered with two-colour thread decoration. An interesting, dynamic and asymmetrical form of the vases, probably inspired by the world of plants. A vase with a very similar decoration is located in the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague (Uměleckoprůmyslové museum v Praze).

Pallme-König & Habel - a glass factory founded in Steinschonau, Austria, around 1786 by Ignaz Pallme-König. Since the 1880s, the factory has been producing high-quality products, mainly for export. The glassworks was famous for its Art Nouveau iridescent glass, using original colors. Around 1900, Pallme-König merged with Wilhelm Habel's Elizabethhutte and adopted the new name Pallme-König & Habel.
