Vase made of layered glass using the etching technique. The decorative motif is Hydrangeas in a beautifully complementary purple and green colour scheme against a light background.

Good state of preservation, a small repair on the spout and below it a visible small crack.

Émile Gallé's manufactory was famous for its first-class furniture and glassware. Gallé loved walks in the wild woods and also had his own small botanical garden, and hung signs above the door of his workshop: ‘Our roots are deep in the forest - on the banks of streams and among the moss’.
