Appetizer set, silver, Capelet & Guthe, France, late 19th century
A set of cutlery for serving appetizers. It consists of a perforated olive spoon, a perforated tuna spatula, a butter spatula and a gherkin fork. It is additionally enriched with a flat ladle.
Smooth ladles were set on simple decorative handles with a trefoil finial. They received a linear border with a small offset, marking the boundary between their arm and the handle.
