FRUIT SET, silver, Emile Puiforcat, France, 19th/20th century
Set of fruit forks and knives for 12 people.
The decorative shafts received subtle bands, enriched with discreet ribbons. Their handles were separated by a small festoon, creating a place for the monogram of the new owner.
The knife handles are additionally decorated with a slender sprig of foliage.The whole is characterized by the delicacy of the ornamental setting.

Emile Puiforcat - French goldsmith operating in Paris from 1857, at 18 rue Chapon. In the years 1897-1945 this mark was also used by his grandson Jean Puiforcat.
