TABLE CENTER CUTLERY, Christofle, France, 19th/20th century
A set of table center cutlery for serving meat and salads.
Elongated scoops were placed on baluster arms, preceding powerful shafts. Vibrating crests with an emerging branch of feathery foliage were inscribed in clearly outlined frames.
The whole thing has been enriched with the monogram of the previous owner

Christofle - a French company famous for its high-quality plated and silverware. In 1830, Charles Christofle took over the family jewelry workshop located in the Marais district of Paris. With the financial support of his sister, he became an industrial leader in the production of tableware. Further development of the plant brought retail outlets in Europe, North and Central America, as well as in the Russian Empire.
