ECLECTIC CUTLERY, A. Frenais, France, 19th/20th century
A cutlery set for twelve people. It contains a complete set of forks, spoons, teaspoons, as well as one serving spoon and a ladle.
The elongated ladles were given slender handles that widened towards the bottom. Their handles were separated by a geometric panel with pyramid-shaped palmettes.
Flanked by fine foliage, they were topped with a triple setback with a mascaron's head

Armand Frenais (1877-1927) - French goldsmith also known under the name "Fresnais". Initially he operated at 60 rue de Turbigo in Paris, later moving his workshop to 65 Boulevard Richard Lenoir. He specialized in plated items, primarily cutlery and so-called flat products, such as trays or platters. In 1913 his son Edouard Frenais took over the management of his company.
