Description

Green tarā (Śyāmatārā) seated in lalitasana on a double lotus base, with left hand in vitarkamudra and right hand in varadamudra, both arms surrounded by blooming lotuses, adorned with jewelry, face with a gentle smile, topped with a leafy tiara, hair in a conical bun. In Tibetan Buddhism, tarā is a female bodhisattva, the embodiment of compassion and mercy, considered the consort of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara.
