Maurice Berty (1884-1946) - French illustrator, actually called Jean Marie Pierre Henri de Lambertie. He adopted an artistic pseudonym to distinguish his achievements from the achievements of his grandfather - a well-known and popular master of gardening at that time. Initially, he created illustrations only out of passion. It was only after World War I that he started working as a professional graphic designer for publishers of that time, including Librairie Nilsson. He designed advertisements for department stores, such as Le Bon Marché, posters for jewelery shops and illustrations for theater programs. In 1942 he was awarded the Bordina Prize by the Acadé mie des inscriptions et belles letter
