SAINT JOSEPH WITH CHILD, wood, 17th century

A statue of Saint Joseph holding the Baby Jesus on one shoulder. Little Christ has a round object in his hand, possibly an earthly sphere, or a royal apple. In the other hand, Joseph could hold a lily. The compositional solution of the sculpture refers to that known from numerous representations of Madonna and Child.
