The body of the Son of God appears elongated, especially because of the slightly bent legs. It does not bear much of a sign of the torment that has been passed, only the wound in the side is underlined. Our Lady looks at her Son with sadness, but does not cry, but with love supports the body. The faces of Madonna and Jesus are quite close, which dramatizes the whole performance - the Mother looks at the Son, but He cannot answer anymore. The folds of Mary's robe and Christ's perison are carved quite shallow. The matter of the dress and mantle of the Virgin Mary creates a stable visual basis for the entire performance.
