The young woman has a gentle beauty and a long pair of braids. The left hand is raised to the cheek, the right hand is holding a small box.

According to one of the translations, Pandora, having opened the vessel offered by Zeus, released into the world the misfortunes locked in it.

Eutrope Bouret (1833-1906) - French sculptor trained under the supervision of Louis Buhot. From 1875, he regularly exhibited his works at the French Salons, receiving a distinction in 1885. He eagerly reached for historical and mythological themes. He performed his works in both bronze and marble.
