A CANDLE HOLDER WITH AN EYE OF PROVIDENCE, brass, 19th century
A baluster candlestick with a three-sided base supported by three lion's legs.
The trapezoidal base received analogous panels with ears of cereals, a bunch of grapes and the eye of providence. Volute clamps were juxtaposed with palmette faults carrying pearled friezes.
The volute head lifts a magnificent sleeve, the bulging belt system of which gives the vessel lightness and delicacy.
